Watch the Works of Liz Lerman, Winner of 2017 Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award

Photo Credit Matt Roth for The New York Times Liz Lerman, a didactic choreographer who has devoted her career to community engagement through dance, is this year’s recipient of the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award. The $25,000 prize will be presented at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, which runs from June 21 through Aug. 27 in Becket, Mass. Ms. Lerman, who is also a faculty member at Arizona State University, joins a small class of winners of the award, which was established in 2007 and whose alumni include Merce Cunningham, the socially conscious choreographer Camille A. Lewis and Clark assistant sociology professor pays it forward

GODFREY – L&C Assistant Sociology Professor Jen Cline has a passion for teaching and helping students achieve their educational and life goals. Cline was a first-generation college student and remembers the impact her teachers and advisors had on her when she started junior college. “I never considered myself an academic, and I didn’t like school,” Cline said. “Thankfully, while I was working on my associate degree, my advisor saw something in me and put me in the college’s honors program. Serial killer died from head injuries; Ohio inmate suspected

Friday, March 31st, 2017:

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — A fellow inmate is suspected of fatally beating a serial killer dubbed the “Angel of Death” inside the cell where he was serving multiple life sentences, authorities said Friday. No charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon and the name of the suspect hasn’t been released, said Lt. Robert Sellers, a State Highway Patrol spokesman. Details about the attack won’t be released until investigators take the case to a grand jury, Sellers said.
