My name is Andres Barrios and my parents are Art and Margie Barrios.
My educational plans are to attend Texas A&M Kingsville and major in Kinesiology with a minor in Special Education. I was awarded the Presidential Scholarship for 4 years and I will have the opportunity to play football at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
I have completed 32 college hours from Coastal Bend College and will be receiving a Marketable skills certificate in Welding from the college. I am a member of the National Honor Society for 2 years, Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 2 years, PALS mentor program, and Altar Server for St. Joseph Catholic church. As a two year Varsity Quarterback, I was named All District first team and Academic All State this year. I was awarded the Dave Campbell Magazine Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week for Week 11.
The best advice I received was from my father who told me The Only one that can stop you, is You. He motivates me every day.
I see myself finishing my Bachelor’s degree and starting my Master’s in Education Administration in 5 years. My goal is to become an Athletic Director.
If I could change anything about the world it would be to regulate climate change and pollution because too much is changing in our environment too fast. Clean air and water are important for our safety.
If I could invite 3 people to dinner it would be Elvis Presley, Peyton Manning and the Pope. Elvis because I like his music, Peyton Manning and I could talk football and I would ask the Pope to pray for me and my family.
