The festival was taped Sept. 22-23 near the site of the Route 91 Harvest country music festival.
The CW is delaying its planned two-night broadcast of the iHeart Radio Music Festival following the deadly Las Vegas shootings that have left at least 59 dead and more than 520 injured.
The network taped the festival Sept. 22 and 23 and was poised to broadcast the concert that featured performances by Harry Styles, Jared Leto, DJ Khaled, Macklemore, Kesha and Miley Cyrus, among others. The younger-skewing network was set to telecast both nights on Wednesday and Thursday as part of its fall launch. Repeats will now take over the 8-10 p.m. slots on both nights.
“Out of respect to the victims of last Sunday’s terrible tragedy in Las Vegas and their families, The CW Network and iHeartMedia will be postponing this week’s TV broadcast of the iHeartRadio Music Festival. New broadcast dates will be announced at a later time,” The CW and iHeart Media said Monday in a joint statement.
The iHeart Radio Music Festival took place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena. Some portions of the fest were held outdoors near the location of this weekend’s Route 91 Harvest country music festival. The outdoor portion of the iHeart event was not part of the broadcast.
A gunman on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest festival late Sunday. As of press time, at least 59 were killed and more than 520 injured.
The news comes as red-carpet events for features Blade Runner 2049 and Marshall were canceled following the deadliest shooting in U.S. history.
Repeats of Whose Line Is It Anyway and Masters of Illusion will air Wednesday; last season’s finales of Supernatural and Arrow will run on Thursday.
