The abc of trending content 75 cadet-athletes earn Mountain West all-academic honors

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force placed 75 student-athletes on the spring Academic All-Mountain West team, as announced today by the league office. The 75 student-athletes honored are the third most since joining the Mountain West in 1999-00.  The school record of 81 honorees was set during the 2015-16 spring season.

Combined with the 36 student athletes that earned Mountain West all-academic honors in the fall, 111 Academy student-athletes were honored during the 2016-17 academic year. That total is the second most since the Falcons joined the Mountain West in 1999-00. The school record of 122 was set last season.

The Mountain West honored a total of 986 student-athletes on the spring 2017 Academic All-Mountain West team, the Conference announced today. Spring sports include baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, softball, women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field. The Conference record of 993 spring semester honorees was set during the 2015-16 academic year.

 To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
