BROWNSVILLE, Minn. (WKBT) – A man who went missing after a boating accident Saturday evening on the Mississippi River near Brownsville, MN has been found.
The Vernon Co. Sheriff’s Dept. says search crews recovered the body of Kevin Lee Hanson, 47, of Mabel, MN around 4:27 p.m. Sunday.
The boating crash happened around 6:00 p.m Saturday in the town of Bergen in Vernon County, just south of Brownsville.
A 32-foot, 10 passenger boat was going south and struck a concrete navigation marker directly across from Wildcast Campground and boat landing.
There were seven people on the boat, including the driver.
The sheriff’s department says Diana Lynn Klankowski, 56, of Spring Grove was transported to the shore by a private boat and pronounced dead at 6:34 p.m.
Gerald Wayne Ladsten, 57, also of Sping Grove was taken to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse by Tri-State Ambulance and later released.
An woman, whose name will be released at a later time, was taken to the nearest helicopter landing zone by Caledonia Ambulance and flow to Gundersen Health System by Med-Link Air.
Robert Alf Klankowski, 52, of Spring Grove was taken to Gundersen by Tri-State Ambulance.
