Colombian defender is keen to move to North London this week as Mauricio Pochettino closes in on his first summer signings
TOTTENHAM target Davinson Sanchez has gone on strike – refusing to board the Ajax bus for their opening game of the season.
Spurs are close to landing the 21-year-old defender in a £35million deal, but such antics will not go down well in North London.
Last year’s Europa League finalists lost 2-1 at Heracles – without the big defender who is holding out for a move to Tottenham.
Sanchez joined Ajax from Atletico National last summer for £4m on a five-year contract, and his standout performances have caught the eye of Europe’s elite.
The Dutch giants are doing everything possible to keep Sanchez, who has only been in Holland for a year.
Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars said: “Ajax have made Davinson a top offer for a new contract.”
Despite what Overmars has said, the club are resigned to losing the defender who looks set to follow his former team-mate Davy Klaassen to England.
Klassen joined Everton and made his Premier League bow in the win against Stoke at Goodison Park.
